Controversies Galore: When TV celebs got into serious trouble

Pratyusha Banerjee: The 24-year-old 'Balika Vadhu' actress allegedly committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai. What came out in the open thereafter included drugs, drinking addiction and an abusive relationship - all associated with the glamour industry since ages. Besides being booked on charges of abetement to suicide, the allegations levelled against Pratyusha's boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh have also given rise to suspicion of 'murder'. The 'shocking revelations' made in numerous press conferences held by friends, family and lawyers have only led to more complications in the case. In addition to all this, doctors have recently confirmed that Pratyusha was pregnant and had probably undergone an abortion not long before her alleged suicide.

Dolly Bindra and Rakhi Sawant: While there were friends who genuinely mourned the death of Pratyusha Banerjee, there were some who resorted to cheap publicity to gain leverage out of the incident. From pointing 'sindoor' on Pratyusha's forehead to leaking the recording of her call with Pratyusha's grieving mom on social media; Dolly Bindra did not leave any chance to gain publicity. Rakhi Sawant, too, held a press conference, wherein she requested the Prime Minister to ban ceiling fans. She stated that banning ceiling fans was more important than chanting 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' because many daughters and daughters-in-law were committing suicide because of it. This sad publicity gimmick made CINTAA send show cause notices to both of them.

Kapil Sharma: He is TV's funny man, but that doesn't stop him from being at the centre of numerous controversies. Kapil Sharma made headlines recently for his infamous fallout with Colors channel which led to the end of TV's most loved show 'Comedy Nights With Kapil'. As per sources, Kapil accused the channel for giving more prominence to Krushna Abhishek's show 'Comedy Nights Bachao', a show with smiliar format. This also prompted Krushna to compare their rivalry to SRK and Salman's. With back and forth allegations and sour notes exchanged in the media, the two stand-up comedians caught everyone's attention for all the wrong reasons.

Shilpa Shinde: Shilpa Shinde quit And TV's popular show 'Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai' as she refused to abide by the producer's 'exclusivity contract'. Accused of throwing tantrums, Shilpa called Benaifer (the producer) a 'tyrant' in one of her interviews. In retaliation, Benaifer claimed that Shilpa was 'non-punctual and a liar'. Even though there was news of CINTAA favouring Benaifer and banning Shilpa from working on TV, the association recently refused what was stated in the reports. They claimed that they could not do such a thing. Now, Shilpa has lodged a police complaint against CINTAA.

Arbaaz-Malaika: Just when everyone expected them to sizzle the small screen with their chemistry and style on Sony TV's Power Couple, what happened was quite the contrary. Arbaaz was seen hosting the show without Malaika, fuelling rumours of trouble in their relationship. Their public appearances also lacked the spark and ease they shared earlier. With divorce rumours thick in the air, Arbaaz took to Twitter several times asking people to mind their business. He also uploaded his video on Instagram singing ' Kuch toh log kahenge, logon Ka kaam hai kehna'. The couple issued a joint statement saying that they have taken a break from each other. While they continue to live separately, the latest on the front is that they might not divorce each other at all.

Sushant-Ankita: The couple fell in love on the sets of 'Pavitra Rishta' in 2009, and started living together soon after. Both Ankita and Sushant made their love quite evident in public with their red carpet appearances and vacation pictures. They also told in an interview that they were all set to tie the knot this year. Hence, to many, their split came as a shock. Reportedly, the reason was that neither could handle the pressure of stardom. While it was one of them who sparked the speculation, they later denied quite blatantly the news of their split and claimed all was well. They might play denial games now, but it's quite certain that the truth will be out sooner or later.
