After an unconfirmed piece of report saying that DC's upcoming "Green Lantern Corps" movie will include both Hal Jordan and John Stewart, the latest in the rumor mill is that the movie will actually feature not just two Earth-bound members of the Green Lantern Corps, but three[1] as it will also feature another earthling Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner.
"Green Lantern Corps" is slated for a June 19, 2020 release, but this early, fans of the DC character are already curious as to how the movie will pan out. Before the release of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," it was speculated that actor Dan Amboyer would be introduced as the character who will wear the power-wielding ring[2]. Unfortunately, the supposed scenes of Amboyer have been deleted in the movie, with it ending not featuring even a shadow of the actor.
Last month, it was also speculated that "Green Lantern Corps" will feature a John Stewart Green Lantern after Tyrese Gibson disclosed on "Larry King" that he had met with Warner Bros. for a possible Green Lantern role[3] and that he had a shot on it.
Hal Jordan and John Stewart are the two most known human members of the Green Lantern Corps. In the 1970s animated series "Super Friends," the Hal Jordan Green Lantern was a founding member of the Justice League of America. On the other hand, the "Justice League" animated series, which ran on the Cartoon Network from 2000-2004 and its sequel "Justice League Unlimited" featured a John Stewart Green Lantern, a colored human member of the Green Lantern Corps.
According to Latino Review[4], Warner Bros. is now on the hunt for an actor who will breathe life to another human member of the Green Lantern Corps, Kyle Rayner, who is dubbed as the last Green Lantern. It is also rumored that the production is looking for someone who is as old as actor Matt Damon to breathe life to the character.
If the rumors are true, then fans can only wonder how the combined powers of the Earth-based members of the Green Lantern Corps will affect the story of the movie and its performance at the box office.
The last live-action feature of Green Lantern was shown in 2011 and was top-billed by now "Deadpool" actor, Ryan Reynolds.
