LSU's Les Miles is playing a cop in an upcoming movie

While some people think of "The Blind Side" as a touching tale about Michael Oher and the family who embraced him, college football fans remember it for something entirely different altogether: All the great cameos from their favorite coaches.

There was former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron. And South Carolina's Lou Holtz. Not to mention Nick Saban, who recruited Oher in real life as the coach of LSU[1].

But for all the great cameos in the 2009 film, there was one notable exception: Les Miles. Granted, Miles never actually recruited Oher in real life. But since when does Hollywood not take a few creative liberties in their movies?

In a world where major sports figures from LeBron James ("Trainwreck") to Brett Favre ("There's Something About Mary") and yes, even Nick Saban have appeared on the silver screen, how has no savvy Hollwyood producer ever tabbed the charismatic Miles to be part of their movie?

Thankfully this trend appears to be coming to an end.

That's right: Miles will make his big screen debut when he plays a cop in the independent flick "Camera Obscura," which is just about to finish filming in Baton Rouge.

From NOLA.com's Jim Kleinpeter[2]:

After the main character witnesses a man fall to his death from from the third-story of a building, he approaches the police caution tape around the scene. Miles' line is something to the effect of "Sir, I'm going to need you to step back."

According to Kleinpeter few other details are available, including when the movie will actually be released.

Of course while this will be Miles' first appearance on the silver screen, we certainly hope it's not his last.
