This year's MTV Movie Awards taped Saturday and air tonight (8 ET/PT). That means there was plenty of cussing that will either be bleeped or cut out of the telecast, and we have some (spoiler alert!) show highlights to share with you before you even tune in.
Spoilers ahead! 13 important things that happened during the show that taped outside of the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, Calif.:
1. Co-hosts Kevin Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson became DC Comics heroes.
After making their grand entrance with the Mad Max War Boys, Hart and Johnson changed into Batman and Superman costumes, or as they described themselves, "Dark Chocolate Knight and Samoan Superman." The duo proceeded to call out a ton of Marvel stars, since Captain America (Chris Evans), Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) were in the audience. "Superman and Batman gonna slap you back into Fantastic Four," Johnson said.
2. Chris Pratt thanked every action hero imaginable.
Pratt accepted his award for best action performance (in Jurassic World) with a list of heroes he admires. Among those named: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Jackie Chan, Sigourney Weaver, Burt Reynolds, Anthony Mackie, Liam Neeson, Harrison Ford, Carl Weathers, Antonio Banderas, Kurt Russell "and God ... I meant, God, I'm forgetting someone," he deadpanned. He also named Patrick Swayze, Dwayne Johnson "and, of course, my wife, Anna Faris. Our son was destined to be tough, but thanks to you, he's going to be smart, too."
3. The rap "Leo got (bleeped) by a bear" was released into the world.
"You'll always remember where you were when Leo (DiCaprio) got (bleeped) by a bear," rapped Hart and Johnson, repeatedly, with back-up dancers in bear costumes. Even Rebel Wilson, Anthony Mackie and Adam DeVine chimed in, sharing where they were "when Leo got (bleeped) by a bear" in The Revenant.
4. There was snow in California.
For Halsey's performance of Castle, fake snow fell from the sky. Why? Well, the song is from The Huntsman: Winter's War. On the carpet before the show, she told USA TODAY that rehearsing was a challenge, because she kept getting the soapy precipitation in her mouth and nose.
5. The 'Compton' cast made a jab at the Oscars.
Accepting the first-ever award for "true story," the cast of Straight Outta Compton took the mic. When it was Eazy-E actor Jason Mitchell's turn to speak, he said he wanted to "thank the Academy ... I mean MTV, my bad," he said, seemingly pointing out how the Compton cast wasn't nominated for any Oscar acting awards.
6. Salt-N-Pepa and a bunch of Deadpools had a dance party with Ryan Reynolds.
The song Shoop has become an anthem for the Marvel film Deadpool. So it made sense to have Salt-N-Pepa perform the song live when Reynolds won for comedic performance as Deadpool. "I had been trying to get the Deadpool movie made a little bit over a decade," Reynolds said. "It wasn't all unicorns and cocaine." He went on to thank his wife, Blake Lively, for many things, "especially the sex."
7. Will Smith was saluted by Queen Latifah, Halle Berry and the Lonely Island.
The Lonely Island, in overalls that were only strapped on one side, sang a medley of Smith songs: Parents Just Don't Understand, Summertime, Men In Black and then "all those songs at the same time, but in reverse. ... Bad idea." They ended on Gettin' Jiggy Wit It. "I thought it was code for the old-(explicit) dude award," Smith said as he accepted the Generation Award.
8. Adam DeVine and Rebel Wilson made out onstage.
After winning the award for best kiss, the Pitch Perfect 2 co-stars went onstage to say the honor was "absolutely incredible, because in real life, we have no sexual chemistry," said Wilson. "I'm not turned on by her soft, pillowy lips," said DeVine. "I'm not aroused by his Cabbage Patch face," added Wilson. The couple then lunged at each other, fell to the ground and made out. Wilson even kicked off her shoes.
9. The stars of Suicide Squad talked about, um, sex toys.
Jared Leto, surrounded by his co-stars Smith, Cara DeLevingne and Margot Robbie, talked about the "blood, sweat, semen and even a few (sex toys)" that went into the "sick and twisted film." He introduced a new clip of Suicide Squad and said, "I can't wait to share it with you crazy (expletives)."
10. Melissa McCarthy crowd-surfed to the stage.
Well, actually a bunch of strapping gentlemen carried her through the crowd to accept the Comedic Genius Award, which Hart accidentally dropped while giving to her. "Thank you, Mr. Rock Johnson, and thank you to The Rock's assistant," she said, poking fun at Hart. She thanked the many funny women she's "been stealing from," her mother and her fans. "You are absolutely the single reason I get to keep doing what I love," she said.
11. Eddie Redmayne emerged from a suitcase.
"That's the most extravagant entrance I've ever experienced," said Redmayne, who, after a bunch of men in suits with suitcases danced their way to the stage, popped out of a suitcase himself. (We have a feeling a trap door may have been involved.) The actor was on hand to premiere new footage of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
12. Tarzan didn't wear pants.
A pantless Alexander Skarsgard, who's starring as the title character in The Legend of Tarzan, presented the award for best movie. "I was going to go shirtless, but I was told Zac Efron did that," he said. His co-presenter, Samuel L. Jackson, called the move "classy," before describing the plots of nominated films: "(Explicit) the police" (Straight Outta Compton) and "(Explicit) that big-(expletive) dinosaur" (Jurassic World). The big winner? ...
13. Star Wars: The Force Awakens won best movie.
J.J. Abrams and Daisy Ridley broke through a Death Star to accept the award for best movie, as the audience waved light sabers.
