Oh, snap! Not surprisingly, the force will be with the 2016 MTV Movie Awards when the golden popcorn is handed out on Apr. 10.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens leads the field with 11 nominations, MTV having revealed the nominees this morning via its Snapchat Discover channel, marking the second time the cable network has used a mobile method in this manner. MTV had also announced the nominations for the 2014 MTV VMAs on Snapchat, a pioneering move at the time.

In competition with Star Wars for Movie of the Year are Avengers: Age of Ultron, Creed, Deadpool, Jurassic World and Straight Outta Compton. To keep up with all the big-screen tales that were ripped-from-the-headlines this year, MTV added a True Story category in which the likes of The Big Short and Concussion will square off, as well as a Documentary category.

This marks the 25th anniversary of the annual ceremony. Dwayne Johnson[1] and Kevin Hart[2], co-stars of the upcoming movie Central Intelligence, are co-hosting the event, which takes place in Burbank, Calif., on Apr. 10 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Fans can vote for nominees at www.MovieAwards.MTV.com[3] until March 20.
