The Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix is racing into Indianapolis this weekend for a three-day, power-packed event.
Motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the Midwest will ride their bikes into town starting Friday to unite under a common love for speed on two-wheels. It all begins with an event Friday night on Monument Circle.
The Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix is part of the world's premier motorcycle road racing series, MotoGP. This is the eighth year for the event at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The race features high-tech motorcycles going 200 miles per hour, controlled by some of the world's best riders.
The 27-lap race starts at 2 p.m. Sunday with plenty of practice and qualifying all day at the track Friday and Saturday.
But, motorcycles take center stage from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday on Monument Circle and South Meridian for Motorcycles on Meridian. New this year is a motorcycle stunt show and a motorcycle marketplace featuring everything from Harleys and Ducatis to sports bikes and motor scooters.
