This weekend sees the 2015 British MotoGP kicking off at Silverstone. All practices and qualifiers are being broadcast live on BT Sport 2 and streamed online. Here's how to watch it.
How can I watch MotoGP live on BT TV?BT Sport 2 is available as part of the BT Sport pack, which is included with all BT TV channels. In order to get BT TV, you'll need a BT Broadband service.
BT TV costs either £0/month, £7.50/month or £15/month on top of a BT Broadband subscription. BT Broadband starts at £5/month, plus line rental (£17.99/month) for an up to 17Mbps service with a 10GB download cap and free weekend calls.
To get TV channels in HD from BT, you'll need to take the HD Extra bolt-on (£4/month) if you want to watch MotoGP live in high definition.
In order to be able to get BT TV channels in HD, you'll need to have a BT Infinity FTTC (Fibre to the Cabinet) broadband service.
As BT delivers its extra channels over a broadband connection, you'll need something a little bigger than basic ADSL broadband. BT Infinity will give you the extra bandwidth in order to deliver HD channels. BT Infinity is current available to around 80 per cent of UK homes.
BT Infinity starts at £10/month, plus line rental (£17.99/month) for an up to 38Mbps package with a 40GB data allowance plus free weekend landline calls.
BT offers a Line Rental Saver option, which lets customers pay for a year's worth of line rental up front. This currently costs £183.48, but from September 20 onwards, it will be going up to £194.28.
If you can afford to pay in advance, it might be worth doing as it'll save you £32.40 over the year, compared to the £215.88 you would otherwise spend if you paid the standard £17.99 rate every month. As well as covering you for 12 months it'll effectively protect you from any future line rental rises for a year.
How can I watch MotoGP live on Sky TV?Sky TV customers have the option to add BT Sport channels for £5/month extra if they take BT Broadband or £19.99/month extra if they don't.
Whichever option you go for, you'll get all of the BT Sport channels - that's BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2, BT Sport Europe and BT ESPN - regardless.
If you want to watch MotoGP races in HD, you'll need to pay £4/month extra on top of whatever else you're paying.
The BT Sport pack costs £18/month on top of whatever you're paying for your Virgin TV subscription.
There's nothing extra to pay and you're not required to take out BT Broadband in order to get the channels on Virgin Media.
How can I stream MotoGP live online?Related: BT Sport for iOS and Android reviewIf you don't want a pay TV package, but you've got BT Broadband, you can get something called BT Sport Lite, which basically gives you everything that you'd get on the BT Sport 1 channel online.
Unfortunately for MotoGP fans, if you want to watch races - which are broadcast on BT Sport 2 - then you'll need to either pay £5/month to get content from other BT Sport channels.
BT TV customers can watch content from all channels online for no extra cost.
The BT Sport desktop app works on the majority of browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari. It runs on Adobe Flash Player, so you'll need to have that installed and up to date.
If you don't want to run Flash, you can watch online via the BT Sport iOS and Android apps instead. If you've got BT Broadband, you'll also be able to watch MotoGP races on your TV with a Chromecast.
How can I stream MotoGP live on my phone or tablet?The BT Sport mobile apps are also available to BT Mobile customers. BT Mobile starts at £10/month (£5/month if you've got BT Broadband).
Again, unless you subscribe to the full BT Sport pack, you won't be able to get the full complement of BT Sport channels as standard - just BT Sport 1 content.
If you don't have BT Broadband then you won't be able to stream any live action on your TV via Chromecast.
I can't get or don't want BT Sport. Aren't ITV showing highlights?If you can't stream the race live or you don't want BT Sport, you can catch up with the MotoGP highlights on ITV 4, ITV 4+1 or watch online with ITV Player up to 30 days after the original broadcast.
Highlights are typically broadcast the day after the live coverage is aired on BT Sport 2, at 8:00pm and an hour later on ITV4+1.
ITV Player is available for Chrome and Firefox and requires Flash Player to run.
