Runaway Moto3 series leader Danny Kent had to settle for second place in today's Moto3 qualifying session at Brno's MotoGP round as ridiculous dawdling and tow-searching meant he was messed up by people waiting to follow him.
Kent went into his final run in third place behind Fabio Quartararo and Efren Vasquez before Jorge Navarro pinged into first place with a 2'07.700. Quartararo went into second on a 2'07.815 while Kent was on a pole schedule until he was baulked by Livio Loi doing about four miles per hour on the racing line.
On the final lap, both Romano Fenati and Andrea Migno were shadowing Kent and as he came through the second sector, he came across another bunch of riders messing about and had to settle for second with a 2'07.669 as Nico Antonelli went to pole by just 0.002s. John McPhee also got tangled up in a group but managed to bag tenth place
Race director Mike Webb will be looking at the footage closely and expect a raft of penalties to be dished out this evening…
