Lorenzo adds name to star-studded RoC line-up - crash.net


Two-time MotoGP World Champion Jorge Lorenzo has announced he will compete again in the 2015 Race of Champions, to be held at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London.

The Spaniard, MotoGP winner in 2010 and 2012, last competed in the end-of-season motorsport extravaganza in 2012, where he was teamed with nine-time Le Mans 24 Hours winner Tom Kristensen in the 'All Stars' team.

Currently in the hunt for the 2015 MotoGP title with Yamaha, Lorenzo is latest is a line of impressive names set to compete in the former London 2012 Olympic stadium on November 20-21, with Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo, Petter Solberg, David Coulthard and Mick Doohan also slated to race.

"This is an exciting year in MotoGP and I can now look forward to rounding it off by taking on the world's best drivers at the Race Of Champions. Of course I don't underestimate the challenge of racing them at their own game but I'm glad to see Mick Doohan in the field too. We'll both do our best to rem ind them that bikers can race on four wheels too.

"I hope the public enjoy it and have fun with all of us. Now all that's left is for me to work hard over the rest of the MotoGP season to come to London as a triple world champion rather than a double world champion!"

Lorenzo reached the semi-finals of the Nations' Cup with Kristensen in 2012, but failed to progress beyond the group stages when representing himself.
