Sometimes good things do happen. Anticipation for Margot Robbie's portrayal of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad is so high that Warner Brothers have already greenlit a solo Harley movie, which was pitched by Robbie herself. And if you think that sounds too good to be true just wait, because there's even more awesome news.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Robbie was inspired by DC's female characters when she researched her role. Wanting to develop these characters on the big screen, Robbie brought in a scriptwriter and presented the idea to Warner Bros, who snapped it up faster than Harley can steal a purse.
No characters are 100% confirmed for the movie yet, but THR pinpointed Batgirl and the Birds of Prey as likely to appear in the film. This isn't hugely surprising, as the DCEU already has a Barbara Gordon — or at least it would, if Jena Malone's Batman v Superman scenes hadn't been cut.
Will Oracle Lead The Team?
Malone was confirmed to appear in Batman v Superman long before the film came out, but her role was kept strictly secret, until Zack Snyder spilled the beans[1] to Entertainment Weekly.
Barbara Gordon became Oracle.Although Snyder specified that she wasn't playing Batgirl, many fans took this to mean that Malone was either playing Barbara Gordon when she wasn't in her superhero guise, or Oracle, Barbara's other alias. Barbara became Oracle after the Joker shot her in the spine, rendering her paralyzed from the waist down.
Determined not to let this stop her fighting crime, Barbara became an ace hacker and technical sauvant, but she didn't stop there. Along with her close friend Dinah Lance (Black Canary), Barbara founded the Birds of Prey, an all-female superhero team. And they were awesome.
Oracle and Black Canary lead the Birds of Prey.The Birds of Prey operate mainly out of Gotham city, and have featured many different team members such as Huntress, Katana, Starling, and even Poison Ivy. The New 52 version of the team also clashed with Harley Quinn and Suicide Squad.

So what about the Harley Quinn solo movie? Well, this team would be a perfect fit to foil Harley's plans, or even to team up with her. It's difficult to predict whether Harley will be a villain or an antihero after Suicide Squad, as in the comics she often walks the line between the two.

If the Birds of Prey are involved, they could start out as enemies before making the transition to allies, and Poison Ivy could be a big part of that.
In the New 52, Ivy teams up with the Birds of Prey but her allegiance is tentative at best. Ultimately, we can only be sure of her loyalty to Harley Quinn — the two are close friends turned lovers[2], who fiercely protect one another.
Harley and Ivy aren't just friends any more.It could be that Ivy bridges the gap between the Birds of Prey and Harley Quinn in the film, or Harley and Ivy could be the villainous duo that the Birds of Prey are on a mission to foil. All of this could feed really nicely into the second Justice League movie and the future of the DCEU, especially if Warner Brothers use the Harley Quinn movie to introduce Black Canary, a member of the Justice League.
With the minimal information we have so far, the only thing we can do is wildly speculate. But with the rich history of the comics and the popularity of the characters Robbie has chosen, it seems certain that Harley's solo movie is set to be awesome.
