No, Virginia, Lynda Carter will not appear in Wonder Woman.
Despite Man of Steel failing to bring back any aging Superman actors or creators to cameo in the film that laid the foundation for DC Entertainment's upcoming movie slate, many fans had wondered whether Carter would appear in Patty Jenkins' upcoming film adaptation of the Amazing Amazon.
It wasn't without some justification: trailers for Batman V Superman have shown that the movie seems to have a little more humor to it than did Man of Steel, and recent productions like The Flash and Supergirl have shown that DC can keep its own identity for a production while still paying homage to the past. Add in the fact that Carter herself became something of a cultural icon after bringing Wonder Woman to live action, and it was understandable that people would at least ask the question.
The answer, though, is no, according to Carter's people.
"She wishes its success," said Pete Sanders, a representative for Carter, when The Washington Post[1] reached out after Wonder Woman's leading man Chris Pine declined to answer[2] the Carter question last week.
Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya, Connie Nielsen, and Lucy Davis. The film will be directed by Patty Jenkins from a screenplay by Jason Fuchs.
The film is due in theaters on June 23, 2017[3].
