Tori Spelling Needs New Role In James Franco’s Movie Because She Needs The Paycheck

Tori Spelling has been cast in James Franco's new film Mother, May I Sleep With Danger. Spelling starred in the 1996 version of the movie in which she played Laurel Lewisohn, a teenager who meets the guy of her dreams only to find out he isn't what she thought. Check out a scene from the original movie.

Us Weekly reports that this time around, Tori Spelling will play the mother[1] in the movie. Franco described the remake he has planned.

"Mother May I Sleep With Danger came out 'cause Will Ferrell had done A Deadly Adoption, and Will told me he was actually inspired by my going on General Hospital when he did that, and then Lifetime came to me and said would I like to re-create their movies like Will did. And I said yes, as long as I could change it a bit. So it has… some of the similar elements of the original, but it's completely revamped."

Tori Spelling has already started working on the set of Franco's movie and says she is loving every minute of it.

Apparently, her daughter even got to visit the set and watch Spelling work.

It's a good thing that Tori Spelling is picking up some extra work these days because apparently she is in some serious financial trouble[4]. Entertainment Tonight reports that Spelling is being sued by American Express for a nearly $38,000 unpaid debt with the credit card company. The last payment Spelling made on the account was for $1,070 in June 2015, and that was returned. Documents describing Spelling's credit card balance indicate nothing has been paid.

"No part of said sum has been paid, although demand for payment has been made."

Now, American Express wants the entire balance paid in full, plus interest. TMZ caught up with Tori Spelling's mother, Candy Spelling, and she revealed she has been paying her daughter's bills[5].

"I've been helping her out, I've been paying all her bills now, except I'm not paying extras like that. I'm not paying any back payments – just for the house, and the kids' schools, and their food."

People reports that Tori Spelling revealed that their financial troubles[9] are due to being in the entertainment business.

"We're in the entertainment business, and things change year to year. We don't have a series on the air right now, so we have to be more restrictive of what we can spend, just like anyone who doesn't currently have a steady job."

And what is Tori Spelling's husband's take[10] on his wife with these spending habits and bad debts? Entertainment Tonight caught up with both Spelling and Dean McDermott when they attended the 50th birthday party of David Tutera on Friday night, and McDermott could say nothing bad about his wife.

"She's amazing. She's stunningly hot! I'm the luckiest guy in the world. I have a super-hot wife."

McDermott elaborated on his relationship with Tori Spelling, saying it is better than it has ever been.

"Our relationship is in the best place it's ever been. I was just thinking about it in the car ride over here, about how grateful I am and how filled with gratitude I am that we're still together, and my life is wonderful. I have these wonderful babies with you. I have this wonderful life with you. I'm so grateful and happy."

How they can be in such bliss with the strain of financial troubles hanging over them is a mystery, but good for them. And good luck with your new movie, Tori Spelling!
