It's full steam ahead for the Suicide Squad movie and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice this year and as director Zack Snyder puts it, they are"the cornerstone of the beginning." The DC extended universe is just getting started by introducing characters like Superman, played by Henry Cavill, Batman, played by Ben Affleck, and Wonder Woman, as portrayed by Gal Gadot. All of which are touted as the "DC Trinity[1]" and are coming together as Snyder contributes to the DC Cinematic Universe, according to Comic Book Movie.
A recent Suicide Squad promo shot of the characters striking a pose within a set of cubicles in what looks to be a broken down office. All of whom appear to be in cramped quarters.

Pictured in front is Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, Karen Fukuhara as Katana, and Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang. From behind is Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, and Will Smith as Deadshot. All of which are in some kind of defensive stance with a mix of threatening looks, likely in vein of the "Suicide Squad" attitude.
Not pictured is Mad TVs Ike Barinholtz, who teased something about his character and the character's name is not listed on IMDB. He said he couldn't say much about him, but only the fact his character[5] is "someone that people will not like, and he is someone who likes to really mess with people," according to Inquisitr.
There was even a synopsis that was revealed giving way to the upcoming second trailer that gave a play-by-play of the movie, and how it was done to the tune of Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody."
The prospective Suicide Squad members looked like they were partaking in a prison break as Rick Flagg is seen thumbing[6] through their files name by name, sounding off on what they each basically did. Some of which were quite gruesome, according to Inquisitr.
Director David Ayer did give credence into properly representing these characters. In fact, he talked about how one has to think how the movie he's working on will impact the rest of the films in the extended DC Universe.
"You really have to be thinking three movies downrange and how today's movie will impact more later-cycle projects."
Also, the Fury director stated that though superheroes tend to do their part, he feels that they can be "kinda boring" and can justify a break from that side of the board. So it's probably refreshing to take a breather from the good guys.
"We all need good guys and everything — yay, good guys — but at the end of the day, they're kinda boring. They're always going to do the right thing. When you're dealing with the baddies, it's easy to get ahead of the audience and invert expectations."
In addition to the Suicide Squad movie comes the good guys/gals like Gal Gadot, who will have her own solo Wonder Woman film, which is currently filming, with Star Trek's Chris Pine also starring. In addition the DC Trinity comes another ensemble of additional characters being introduced in Batman v. Superman such as Jason Momoa's Aquaman and Ray Fisher's Cyborg, both of which are to have their own solo movies.
All of these characters were visualized by Zack Snyder as standing together in what he seemed to be teasing an ensemble Justice League: Part One cast, according to Comic Book Movie. He even mentioned about forming a "bigger team" and a "bigger enemy to fight[7]," according to Inquisitr. So it looks like there's an attempt to balance the scales with an anti-hero Suicide Squad movie ensemble.

"I love Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman, but having Flash and Aquaman and Cyborg and to see them all standing together, it's a pretty dorky and cool experience for me."
To experience Ayer's Suicide Squad movie, it releases on Aug. 5. Snyder's Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for theaters on March 25.
