Honda has released more details about its Project 2&4 concept, which is powered by the brand's RC213V MotoGP engine.

The winning entry from Honda's Global Design Project, the open-cockpit Honda Project 2&4 concept will make its global debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Japanese automaker says the engine was originally developed for the MotoGP motorcycle racing series, but has been "specially tuned" for the public road.

The 999cc V4 four-stroke unit — which red lines at 14 000rpm — churns out 158kW at 13 000 rpm and 118Nm at 10 500 rpm, and is linked to a six-speed DCT gearbox.

Overall length is 3040mm, width stands at 1820mm, while height comes in at 995mm. The vehicle weighs just 405kg. Conceived by Honda's motorcycle design studio in Asaka and designed in collaboration with the automobile design studio in Wako, the Honda Project 2&4 "seeks to create an intense driving experience by combining the most thrilling elements of riding a motorcyc le with the most engaging characteristics of driving a car".
