A YOUNG motorcyclist's dreams came true when he competed at the MotoGP World Championships in Silverstone.
Franco Bourne, from Crook, County Durham, was one of a handful of racers chosen to compete in a young talent showcase contest at the event last week.
The 11-year-old got off to a strong start in the competition, organised by FAB-Racing, coming first in the qualifier and gaining poll position.

However, it was not plain sailing, as initial problems with his Metrakit GP70 caused him to fall behind.
Thankfully, the young speed demon, who has just started at King James I Academy in Bishop Auckland, fought his way back up front and came fifth, second and third in his three races.
His overall placing was second.
After the race Franco, who developed his love for motorbikes after taking part in Durham Police's BikeWise scheme, got to meet his idols Alex and Marc Marquez.
His grandmother Avril Summerbell said: "It was an absolutely fantastic day and an unforgettable experience for Franco. He was so excited to meet the Marquez brothers and race on such a big track. We are so proud of him."
