Charlie Hunnam[1] certainly found a lot of success in his role as Jax Teller on Sons of Anarchy[2]. However, since the end of the hit biker drama, the actor has struggled to gain a footing in Hollywood. With his latest movie now delayed and the actor dropping out of another project, will Hunnam ever be conside red a Hollywood success?
Hunnam recently made headlines after it was announced that he had been cast for the role of Edgar Valdez Villarreal in American Drug Lord. According to Complex[3], many people accused Hollywood of whitewashing by casting Hunnam for the part of a Mexican-American character.
This is not the first time studios have been accused of casting white male actors to play characters of different ethnicity. Unfortunately, considering the nature of the business in Hollywood, this is unlikely to change in the near future.

However, it does provide another example of how Hunnam's career has been plagued with delays and controversy following the end of Sons of Anarchy. At the same time, Cinema Blend[4] is reporting that Hunnam recently dropped out of a role in the upcoming romance The Mountain Between Us. Hunnam was set to star alongside Rosamund Pike from Gone Girl, but decided to drop out of the project before filming began. Idris Elba is expected to replace Hunnam as the lead in the movie.
It is not clear why Hunnam decided to turn down the role, especially considering the actor has yet to dive into the world of romance films.
Along with Hunnam's recent decision to drop out, fans will have to wait a while longer before they see Hunnam in action once again. In fact, according to Deadline[5], Hunnam's next role in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur[6] movie has been pushed back to a February 2017 release.
The film was shuffled around in order to take advantage of a weak winter lineup. King Arthur is now pitted up against the likes of Bad Boys 3 and Maze Runner: The Death Cure, which should offer the movie an opportunity to make it big in the box office. The film was originally slated for a release in the early summer of 2016.

[Image via Instagram]The move is certainly good for Charlie Hunnam and his future in the franchise, especially considering the upcoming summer lineup of films. However, it also means that fans will have to wait that much longer before Hunnam graces the big screens again. With Hunnam dropping out of projects and his newest movie suffering from delays, many fans are left wondering what Hunnam is up to and how he plans on expanding his career in the coming years. Given how many careers end up failing in Hollywood after promising starts, Hunnam will definitely need to up his game to stay relevant in the ultra competitive field that is acting.
That being said, Hunnam has expressed little to no concern over the recent developments in his acting career. In fact, Pop Sugar[7] is reporting that the Sons of Anarchy alum is currently busy spicing up his brand new home.
Hunnam recently purchased a large Mediterranean-style home in Hollywood Hills worth some $2.7 million. The house was built back in 1926 and contains a lowered living room, a rustic themed kitchen area, and a large outdoor patio.
The home purchase coincides with a recent sighting of Hunnam and his girlfriend[8] shopping for furniture in Los Angeles. Apparently, Hunnam has a lot of space to occupy in his new digs, which is keeping the actor plenty busy at home.
