Three Portland Thorns' players will be among the first female athletes to grace the cover of the EA Sports video game FIFA '16 when the game is released in the fall.
Forward Alex Morgan will appear on the U.S. regional cover. Forward Christine Sinclair and defender Stephanie Catley will be on covers in their home countries of Canada and Australia. The women will appear alongside FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi, who will be on the world wide cover.
When the game is released in September, it will include women's players for the first time in the game's history. The game will have 12 national teams which include Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, Sweden and the U.S.
