Teamed with 2012 MotoGP podium finisher Katsuyuki Nakasuga, the Tech 3 riders initially focused on learning the challenging Japanese circuit and unfamiliar Superbike machinery.
On the second day they also rode Nakasuga's machine, having agreed that finding a set-up that all three felt comfortable with was the priority.
Fortunately, there was not too much difference in their preferred settings and, according to Yamaha, the team managed to record the fastest lap times on both days - a 2m 07.995s on day one being followed by a 2m 08.167s on day two.
The Honda MuSASHi RT HARC-PRO entry of former double MotoGP champion Casey Stoner, World Superbike rookie star Michael Van der Mark and HRC test rider Takumi Takahashi was listed as fifth quickest, with a best time of 2m 8.495s. Takahashi had set a 2m 7.847 s to put the team top of an earlier official test.
The 2015 Suzuka 8 Hour race will be held on July 26.
