MTV’s hit reality show ‘The Hills’ could soon become a movie

The next chapter is still unwritten.

Could a "Hills" movie really happen? Sources told Entertainment Weekly[1] that an adaptation of the hit MTV reality series is "closer than ever."

"The Hills" graced television screens 10 years ago this week when the first episode aired on May 31, 2006 introducing the world to Kristin Cavallari, Whitney Port, Audrina Patridge and of course, Lauren Conrad.

According to the source, all of the ladies except Conrad expressed interest in the movie. So far, the series' star hasn't released any comment about the possible flick. Heidi Montag, Conrad's ex-bff, was also not listed as a participant in the possible film.

The movie would begin with the friends — almost all in their 30s — at Patridge's wedding in Australia and then focus on each of their own very different lives, EW reported[3].

Last week, Conrad tagged MTV in an Instagram photo that showed her touching up bridesmaid dresses with a camera pointing at her and the caption "Never thought I'd see the day...."

The reality star-turned-fashion designer has yet to post anything to the social media site since.

Her photo could hint at a possible movie reunion — or it could just reference the reunion special, "The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now," airing Aug. 10 on MTV.
